I have dignity because I respect myself.
I have pride because I am aware of myself and the respect I deserve.
I have decency because I allow that OTHERS have dignity and pride in themselves.
I have compassion because I understand that many do NOT and I wish to help them find themselves and their own self worth, self respect, dignity, pride, decency and compassion.
In this way we can help each other build ourselves better and stronger in order that SOMEDAY we will ALL have dignity, pride, decency and compassion.
I think then the world will be a better place.

I LOVE MYSELF in order to LOVE others!

{Post:287/365 Original Post: I AM a QUEEN}

To LOVE yourself does not mean to be conceited, selfish, or self-absorbed to the exclusion of all others. It means knowing and accepting yourself and that YOU are valuable. JUST as valuable as anyone else.
It means that you do not subjugate your own needs and desires to please everyone else first but, rather that you take care of YOU when you need to in order to respect and honour yourself and build and maintain your OWN self-esteem and self worth.
Other people cannot give these things to you.
NO MATTER how much you do to try and please them all and receive accolades and rewards or esteem boosts from their compliments and appreciation in the end you will still carry that dark black hole around inside you and it can never get filled up by ANY OF THEM.
YOU must find YOURSELF inside YOURSELF and feed your own needs and neurosis with your own knowledge, beliefs, understanding and acceptance of ALL that is beautiful and wonderful inside of you and about you!
Beating yourself down won't do this. Berating yourself won't do it. Calling yourself an idiot or stupid or any other names to try and motivate yourself to be better is USELESS and will only squash you down further.
YOU must find, see, recognize and BUILD UP anything you see inside yourself that is BEAUTIFUL, GOOD, POSITIVE, USEFUL, or CREATIVE. YOU must BELIEVE in the beauty and light that shines from within you and never let anyone else squash it down or try to blow it out!
Maybe it is only a tiny spark of light but YOU can fan the flame and build it higher, bigger and brighter EVERY DAY.
THAT is loving yourself FIRST.
THAT is honouring and respecting the heart and soul that resides within you.
When you can LOVE yourself then you will still LOVE to hear and receive appreciation from others and it will reaffirm what YOU already know...that YOU are wonderful, that other people DO recognize this, but, that YOU do NOT NEED them to tell you all this in order for you to KNOW this!
When you know, accept and love yourself it is EASIER to do the same for other people because then you recognize that we are all equally valuable and important...to ourselves AND to each other!

I FORGIVE MYSELF for mistakes.

{Post:286/365 Original Post: I AM a QUEEN}

EVERYONE makes mistakes. It is how we learn!
Don't beat yourself up endlessly for them. Just accept that you made a mistake, let it go and move on. Carrying it around with you and pounding yourself into the ground every time you think of it just keeps you from acceptance and growth.
Let it go!
Forgive yourself for being human and fallible and then learn whatever thing it is you NEED to learn from it and try not to DO IT AGAIN.
The purpose and point of a mistake is that we own and accept it, apologize for it if necessary, LEARN from it, FORGIVE ourselves for whatever part we played in it, and then LET IT GO and move on from it.
It is a good thing to remember the lesson so that we don't repeat mistakes unnecessarily but it is not good to carry it around with you like a cancerous growth inside of us.
It will eat away at our soul until we find letting go of it almost impossible. It will become such a part of us and we won't know or understand life without it.
It can be debilitating.
LET IT GO.
Move FORWARD.
GROW!

LEARNING to take care of yourself...

{Post: 251/365 Original Post: I AM a QUEEN}
I find learning to care for myself difficult because I've spent the better part of my life taking care of others most specifically my husband and my children but, also being available for friends and family too.
I LOVE to do all of that. I am happy to take care of anyone who needs me to do so.
I am beginning to understand though that I deserve to be taken care of too.
By MYSELF!
Following is a list of some things that I am going to TRY very much to begin to do for myself. Some of them are things that I have done before but, many of them are things that I have never done and learning to do them is somewhat of a challenge for me. I'm not really sure why...
However, it is LONG OVERDUE time that I take better care of myself so that I may continue to take care of my people as well.
I WILL try to:

  • Wash my hair with my fave shampoos.

  • Buy special soap once in awhile.

  • Don't feel guilty for having to pay extra for a bubble bath!

  • Paint my fingers and toes.

  • Moisturize arms, legs, hands, feet and body.

  • Dress up to feel better.

  • Have a good and positive attitude.

  • Eat fruits and veggies.

  • Drink 8 glasses of water a day.

  • OR take the time to make a cup of tea.

  • Get enough sleep!

  • Keep busy with hobbies and exercise my mind!

  • Walk, ride exercise bike or DRUM for exercise!

  • Journal for health.

  • Plan healthy meal plans and stick with them.

  • Follow any or all of these things yourself if you want and learn to take care of YOU too!

    Sparkle Goddess

    {Post 101/365}
I feel the need to curl up in a ball and ignore the world.
I'm tired and irrational and there's really no reason for it.
I made sparkle goddesses today and they made me feel good.
I wish it were that easy to find joy and happiness every day.
    But, sometimes I struggle.

Hoping tomorrow will be a better day.

    SoulCollage: Queen

    {Post 99/365: Original Post: FEEL ME}
This is my very first card in SoulCollage.
I find the idea and process very interesting.
You can read, learn and begin your own SoulCollage process HERE:
For quick understanding SoulCollage is the process of honouring
your inner voices and life guides by making SoulCollage cards for each of them.
Throughout the process you learn a deeper understanding of who you are.
I appreciate the depth of this soul searching and I hope to learn many things for and about myself!
With each card you do a "I AM the One Who"... exercise to ear and recognize the voice and it's lessons for your life.
One of the "I AM the One Who" exercise's quotes:
I am the one who is powerful.

I am TRUE to my own heart.

    {Post 89/365: Original Post: I AM a QUEEN}

If I come to the world with a heart of love and kindness the things that I want in life will not be selfish or self-serving therefore they will not be bad things or hurtful to other people. Then it will not be difficult to be TRUE to my own heart.
It is easy to be TRUE to your own heart when you flow along WITH the flow of love coming from it.
    I value love.
    I value friendship.
    I value family.
    I value loyalty.
    I value honesty.
    I value integrity.
    I value TRUTH.
    I value a good heart.
    I value the soul.
Everything that matters to me in this life falls in line with all of these things.
If it doesn't I am not being TRUE to my own heart.
I am not being true to who I am.
    I KNOW who I am.
I have learned many lessons in life to know this and will learn many, many more yet.
Sometimes these life lessons show you a strength inside yourself that you never knew you had and that is MAYBE part of the reason for the lesson in the first place.
We have and ARE everything we need inside of ourselves to be STRONG, to be a GODDESS, to be a QUEEN, and to be TRUE to our own heart.

    The Goddess IN Me

    {Post 86/365: Original Post:(May 28,2010) KD Bissonette on Triond}
I am beginning to see an inner truth that all women should know about themselves and yet do NOT.
I am beginning to see and understand the goddess inside me.
It doesn’t matter about the package I come in.
It doesn’t matter if I’m flawed.
It doesn’t matter if I have a leftover baby belly or  stretchmarks on  almost every part of my body.
It doesn’t matter if my arms are bigger than my father’s, which I must say I HATE!
It doesn’t matter if I am never going to be a “little” girl.
It doesn’t matter if I have boy wrists.
It doesn’t matter if I am bigger than you.
It doesn’t matter if I am never perfect.
They say the eyes are the window to the soul.
I say it is my soul to which you must look.
You must see that I am inside the essence of goddess.
I AM venus, aphrodite, isis and more.
    I am love.
From the opening of my eyes and heart each day.
    I wish you well.
    I wish you joy.
    I wish you love.
I take your sorrow into my heart.
I give you back a sweet smile, a soft touch, a warm hug and understanding..
I hope for you an easy path with only enough hardship to know and appreciate your life.
What matters to a woman are the people she loves.
What matters to a woman is how she can make her loved ones lives better, easier, fulfilled.
What matters to a woman is how she can help and nurture and support.
What matters is her heart, her compassion, her soul.
When she opens her heart to you, to become your friend, your lover, your companion, she offers all that is good inside her, all that is sometimes kept secret even from herself.
She offers you the GODDESS that she is deep inside.
PLEASE see, hear, feel, understand all she is and set her on the pedestal she deserves to shine from.
You will never know better love than that from the deep soul of a goddess.
So support her, uplift her, and encourage her to shine with her own inner light.
    I am shining with mine.
I hope you will keep  shining with yours and if you haven’t started yet…PLEASE do!!

    Every Woman

    {Post 66/365: Original Post: KD Bissonette on Triond}
In honour of International Women's Day (yesterday).

    every woman
    has an aspect of herself
    she doesn't like
    and yet
    every woman
    holds within herself
    the
    beautiful and
    vivacious spirit
    of a goddess

    every woman can be weak
    and find beyond herself
the strength she didn't know she had
    because
    every woman
    holds within herself
    a
    deep
    vibrant
    and meaningful
    power

    every woman can be selfish
    but find inside herself
    the ability to give
    every last thing she has
    because
    every woman
    holds within herself
    a gift
    of love and nurturing
    to share

    every woman can be broken
    and still find inside herself
the strength to get back up
    and carry on
    because
    every woman IS
    ALL
    that she ever needs
    inside herself

    every woman
    holds within herself
    the loving and reverant spirit
    of venus
    the virtue
    and sacredness
    of love

    every woman
    holds within herself
    the great mother goddess
    of isis
    a heart of
    love and compassion,
    tenderness and devotion

    and

    every woman
    holds within herself
    the sensuality and sexuality
    of aphrodite
    the power
    to tempt and tantalize
    and
    seduce

every woman can be a princess
    wanting what she wants
    RIGHT NOW
    and instead choose
    to sacrifice her own needs
    because
    every woman
    holds within herself
    the dignity
    and nobility
    of a queen.

    every woman
    is in truth
    a nurturing mother
    a faithful sister
    a tempting seductress
    a sensual lover
    a spoiled princess
    a beautiful goddess
    and a queen

she need only see the truth inside herself

    Goddess Pendant

    {Post 56/365: Original Post: I AM a QUEEN}

Do you notice anything about this goddess pendant?

At first I didn't like them.

Mainly because of how I see myself POORLY and inappropriately.

Every woman has a goddess inside her.
I'm beginning to LOVE this little stone goddess
for being the size and shape she is because she tells me to honour myself.
She tells me to honour the wide hips that are part of the body I birthed four children with.
She tells me to honour my shape as a part of me. She tells me to appreciate and accept ALL the parts of me.
She tells me to love myself.
She tells me to cherish my body.
This is a long hard thing for me to do because there are parts of it I don't love.
But, I am going to purchase that stone goddess pendant,
look at her, hold her, and soak up all the positive vibes she is already trying to send my way.
I hope that having her makes it easier to remember that I am beautiful just as I am.
    I am woman after all!
