jobs for today

body feeling

jangly

legs

getting twitchy

feet hot

and feeling itchy

it means

I need 

to go to SLEEP

and is most

aggravating

yawn after yawn

legs twitching

body aching

kidney twinges

eyes burning

can't wait

head on the pillow

covers pulled up tight

snug in my cozy bed

sinking into

sleeptime

dreamland

and hoping tonight

will be dreamless

(bad dreams lately)

Insomnia

isn't it odd

that when you should be tired

and sleeping like a baby

you are wide awake

body thrumming

mind racing

creating

whirling

thinking

wake dreaming instead

of dreaming in sleep

and otherwise

up and open to

night time possibilities

but everyone else

is sleeping

so quiet is a must

don't disturb the slumber

of the lucky people

whose minds and bodies

have naturally given them rest

just write a poem

drink sleepytime tea

and relax

hoping for sleep to come again
