2.	ephemeral or transitory When I think of something that is evanescent I think of the gossamer wings of fairies or dragonflies. Something you can see but that is thin and ethereal, flimsy, light, or very delicate. It is a beautiful word that brings to mind beautiful, light and airy creatures of fantasy.
