ME, MYSELF & I

I could lay down and give up and just die

but i DON'T...

I keep trying!

that I carry

in the deep

places

inside me

of course she is

the hope

the dream

the best parts

of myself

she is

only some parts

of who I

strive to be

writing her

I honour ME

Deeper Levels

there are places

inside me

I don't want

to see

to know

to understand

and yet

new doors

open inside me

constantly

sometimes I close them

immediately

and sometimes

I stand looking

into the abyss

not ready to enter

and still other times

I know

that deep inside myself

is only myself

I will not destroy

me

I will only find

a deeper level

another facet

MORE

of myself

sometime soon

I will embrace

my own deeper levels

and then I will come into ME

and I will BE

the differences 

I find in me

when I compare myself

with others

are so vast 

and so unique to me

that I feel

abnormal

and I doubt myself

I fear that I am inadequate

or wrong somehow

and then I fall

almost fall

into the deep blue funk

I am tired of myself

and I wish that I could be the same

as everybody else

but then I realize

I am ME

there is no one else

that I could be

unless I make different choices

most of which I would NOT

and I have to know

that I am just ME

and I don't have to be

like anyone else

because I'm the best ME

I could ever be

already

I AM Something

a boy who didn't get

what  he wanted

told me 

"You think you're something?

YOU are nothing!"

because

I didn't bow down to him

or kneel at his feet

in supplication

or defeat

instead

I stood

for myself

and I am HAPPY

that I did

because the TRUTH

of the matter is this:

I AM SOMETHING

and 

I AM SOMEONE

worthy of being treated with

decency

and respect

worthy of being

honoured

and cherished

WORTHY

of whomever and whatever I want

if THEY don't see it

or understand it

is NOT my problem

I AM

SOMETHING

and I will NOT forget

My birthday! I have hit my 41st and I'm feelin great about it!
Had a great afternoon going out for lunch with my mom, going out for dinner tomorrow night with hubby's mom & dad and going to ENJOY!!
Took a pic of my baby sitting in the BIG chair:

Got lots and lots of love on my FB wall and couldn't be more content with my 41st year of life!

Even tho there are bad parts and sorrows I am feeling happier than I have in a long long time!

Last year and now...how have I changed?
duh...obviously my hair colour!! lmao

Hmmm...I have learned so many things over the course of a year and the biggest is that wallowing in self pity has no point but to allow you to make excuses for why you're not doing SOMETHING to make whatever it is better...
think positive...take out the good things from every lesson and throw away the bad...it can't help you move forward...it can only keep you down...maybe you can't change EVERYTHING about your situation...maybe you can't DO very much...maybe you're STUCK...but if you work hard tt CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE and think positive it can get better a lot faster!!!!

1. I learned to read when I was about 4 or 5 and I have never stopped reading since!

2. I am the girl who will LOOK IT UP if I don't know something.

3. A little known fact amongst even my friends is that I have earned 4 diplomas through correspondence courses. (Art, Journalism/Short Story Writing, Managing Your Own Business, and Wildlife/Forestry Conservation)

4. I have been known to read a dictionary on occasion because i LOVE words.

5. I believe reading makes a person smarter so I've been known to gift a newborn their very first BOOK!

6. I read to all three of my children while they were in the belly. ;)

7. I can be alone (without people) but I cannot live very long without the comfort of a cat.

8. I love SHOES! (I AM a shoe diva!)

9. Being capable of learning the drums and PLAYING them feels like PURE joy!

10. I LOVE a good story.

11. My mom's best friend had 4 boys who I grew up with (both loving and hating them just like brothers) ;) and are probably a BIG part of the reason I love boys so much! lol

12. I dream in vibrant colours and details like watching movies in my head.

13. If I don't know the actors or actresses in a movie I will LOOK IT UP! lol

14. I have been cooking Christmas dinner for my friends every year since I was 18. (22 years)

15. I am quite often too serious so I appreciate people who make me laugh! :)
