If I Were an Angel

{Post: 17/365}
If I Were an Angel
I would wish to give my heart
to all of those
lost and afraid
and heal them from the pain

If I were an angel
I would wish to share my soul
to all of those
lost and unaware
and shine on them a light of love

If I were an angel
I would wish to touch each heart
to lift their eyes
and open pathways
of compassion and understanding for themselves

I am not an angel
and yet I would do these things
with all my heart and soul
and I see no reason why I cannot
for to share love and light and joy is a GIFT.

I have dignity because I respect myself.
I have pride because I am aware of myself and the respect I deserve.
I have decency because I allow that OTHERS have dignity and pride in themselves.
I have compassion because I understand that many do NOT and I wish to help them find themselves and their own self worth, self respect, dignity, pride, decency and compassion.
In this way we can help each other build ourselves better and stronger in order that SOMEDAY we will ALL have dignity, pride, decency and compassion.
I think then the world will be a better place.

The POWER

{Post 71/365: Original Post: I AM LOVE}

Leo Buscaglia~Kindness Quotations
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

You never know when something you have said or done has made all the difference in someone else's life so it is important to live a life with honesty, integrity, kindness, compassion and understanding for other people from all walks of life.
Try not to judge because unless you have walked a mile in their shoes and experienced all the aspects of their life experience you may not truly understand the place they are coming from.
Sometimes the grouchiest people are only getting YOU before you get THEM and it is the only way they know to keep all the people they can't trust at arms length.  Sadly that sometimes also keeps the people they may be able to trust , or who may be able to change their lives with one small touch or word or act of caring at arms length also.
Remember, some people build walls to keep people out but, sometimes they build those walls to see who cares enough to get past them, around them, through them.

We should all strive to be people who break down walls...gently. :)

Compassion

{Post 24/365: Original Post: MysticLOVEAngel}

Compassion Quotes:
Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
It's a beautiful statement of truth.
We can all choose to give.  We can all choose to have a heart full of grace and allow our soul of love to be open and free.
It can be difficult at times.  Especially when we have that particular neighbour or maybe co-worker who might push us to the limits or just rub us the wrong way but, it is always better to choose on the side of love and gentleness because often we don't really know the reasons why they are the people who irritate us most.
Perhaps, they are there simply to test our strength or resolve.
I have that neighbour and on occasion even I fall short and fail that test.
But I try.
That's all any of us can do.
I am strong enough to endure and therefore I will.
