Today I am grateful for

an extra heater

keeping me warm through this cold

cold snap!

Storm

the weather

was wild and crazy

this camping trip

and the worst of it

wasn't even

the lightning

or thunder

or the rain

but it was

the wind!

whipping the tent flaps

blowing the tents

almost over

bending the tent poles

lifting the empty ones

right off of the ground

flipping our shelter

off of the ground and over

blowing so hard

it flipped chairs over

again and again

I'm not afraid of 

thunder or lightning

in fact

I LOVE it!

it is a wild

untamed

force of nature

that demands to be

respected

but the wind

made me nervous

what if it breaks the tent?

we will be exposed

in the open

vulnerable

cold

in the dark

then the whole business

is something to FEAR

but the thunderstorm

moved on and the sky cleared up

leaving only the wind

to contend with

and it brought the chill air

but sometime through the night

it settled down to a dull roar

and we slept 

and we had a beautiful day

for packing up to

return home again

COLD

warm woolly socks

fuzzy slippers

long pants

a sweatshirt over my tank top

two blankies

sitting in front of a floor heater

the drier blasting hot air as it dries the clothes

watching movies

and playing Facebook games

because I am too COLD

to make jewelry today

it was -19 at one point

usual Canadian winter

temperatures

really it is usually colder

but I prefer my warm woollies

and blankies

to outside

with the shivers

and a mug of hot tea

does the trick

for awhile

but...

I am ready for SPRING
