pink and rosy baby
and right away
she smiled at me
she heard the sound of my voice
and smiled
and she was
independent
saucy
strong
and still is all that
and much more
I am proud of her
of her courage
of her ability
to recognize
and embrace
her own faults
and imperfections
and still
embrace
who she is
still have fierce
independence and
strength
and a willingness to grow
and change
she is brave
and strong
she is beautiful
she is my daughter
