my only excuse
is being busy
and distracted
by a whole new world
the characters
the story
the reasons why
their names
their back stories
and what is it
they are trying to say?
these are new characters
to me
but I have known many
through the years
and always been
reticent
about telling their stories
perhaps
it is just time
to set them
and myself
free
